Introducing the Super Dog ZAM Workbook Series

"As an educator, I know that children express

themselves differently. The Super Dog Zam Grief Healing Series is a wonderful way to open the doors of communication with a child about the very difficult subjects of grief and death.

The series provides a wonderful tool for understanding grief and most importantly healing. The workbooks can be used individually or in a group setting.

Children relate to the characters and are able to discuss their feelings, knowing that they are not alone."

The Mother

"Many times as a parent you don’t know how to discuss grief or death with your child because you are grieving as well. My daughter was four when her big brother passed away.  Having books like the Super Dog Zam Grief Healing Series are so important for family members.

Children are extremely resistant to opening up when they don’t know how to communicate their feelings.

These books are not only empowering for the children, but for the adults in their lives as well."

- Amber Wilkins

Mother, in loving memory of her son Noah

The Father

"When I lost my wife to cancer, I searched for grief support in our community and found nothing. While trying to get our lives back together and create someance of normalcy for my boys, a friend from church recommended the Super Dog ZAM Books. She met with my boys twice a month to work through the books together.

It gave the boys a language to express their sadness and emotions, and I learned how to best support them and how important it is to reach out for help. I don't think we could have healed in the same way without these invaluable tools.

The Super Dog ZAM Books should be available in schools.
Thank you."

Father of three boys ages 4, 7, and 11.

The Child

"I like ZAM because he has supernatural powers and can talk to children. It was really sad that he lost his mom, but she is in dog heaven and can still talk to him. It was so cool when she gave him his superpowers.

My mom died, and I sometimes I talk to her when I'm feeling lonely. My dad says that Mom is still living in our hearts, and I can feel her sometimes.

ZAM helped me when I was lonely, and he also taught me how I can talk to my friend Gaby when I feel sad."

Rachel, 8, Lakeland, FL, lost her mother at the age of 7.

Summery of the Workbook

Super Dog Zam has secret powers.

He grew up on a farm with his mom. There was also Uncle Skip (the hedgehog), Aunt Mary (the cat), the twin sheep: Juan and Julie, Kira (the butterfly), Billy (the hamster), and Pete (the bulldog).

Super Dog Zam only has three legs.

One day, when Super Dog Zam was outside playing with his friends, they told him that the humans had taken his mother to the veterinarian. When Mom returned, she told Super Dog Zam the bad news: something was wrong with her heart, and she was not going to live much longer. Mom and Super Dog Zam spent a lot of time together. Mom said Uncle Skip and Aunt Mary would look after him, as well as the farmer and his family.

Super Dog Zam started to keep a diary.

One morning, when Super Dog Zam woke up and barked "Good morning," his mom didn’t answer. She had died quietly in her sleep. Things weren’t the same for Super Dog Zam. As promised, Uncle Skip and Aunt Mary stepped in to comfort Super Dog Zam. Kira (the butterfly) became awfully close to him.

In his dream Mom told Super Dog Zam 1-day she would meet him in Dog Heaven, but not now.She also told him about his superpowers. Uncle Skip gave Super Dog Zam some strong advice about how to use his superpowers for the good.

1-day Super Dog Zam went to tell Uncle Skip & Aunt Mary it was time for him to leave the farm.Later in the week, Aunt Mary threw Super Dog Zam a going away party & all his friends: the twin sheep: Juan & Julie, Kira (butterfly), Billy (hamster), & Pete (bulldog) wished him well & said goodbye. The farmer & his wife made Super Dog Zam his favorite food.
